Bodega Matsu El Picaro

Tasting Notes: This is a dry & medium-bodied style of red wine with rather strong dark cherry fruit flavours.

Due to its very noticeable amount of tannins, low acidity, & dry clove-like spice flavour that becomes apparent on the moderate length & somewhat bitter finish, this wine is best paired with heavy red meat dishes or tapas.

Description: Meaning "the rogue one" in Spanish, this red wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes that were harvested from 90 year old vines planted in the Toro region located in north western Spain.

The winery that produces this wine, Bodega Matsu, crafts their wines to be completely biodynamic, with this particular one being aged in oak for at least one year before being bottled, which serves to add distinct amounts of drying spice flavour to an otherwise fruit-forward wine.
