Tasting Notes: Medium-bodied & moderately tannic, this is a dry & yet rather fruity blend of red wine grapes.
Whilst it does have a noticeable amount of juicy acidity, this wine finishes distinctly dry, with some peppery & dry oaky flavours becoming apparent as the wine is allowed to air for some time.
Description: The first wine produced by the original founder of the Wirra Wirra label back in 1972, Greg Trott, this wine is a blend of three different red grape varietals from the warmer climate McLaren Vale region.
Before being bottled, this wine is aged in American oak for at least 18 months, lending the juicy fruit flavours subtle oak characteristics that becomes increasingly more apparent as the wine is allowed to air.
